Tour with buses and Melfi Rapolla
Festival "Varola and castle of Melfi
PROGRAM:
7.00 am departure, we gather at the back of the Municipality of Putignano
arrival at 9.30 am Melfi Castle and guided tour to the Archaeological Museum in contained therein. The castle built in the eleventh century, then enlarged by Frederick II and imposing well-restored, contains a very large monument called "sarcophagus Rapolla"
11.30 am departure to Rapolla , to see the historic center and the urban park the cellars, where the festival takes place Varola (Caldarrosta). In the cellar you can taste local delicacies and lunch special price of 10 €. In the afternoon walk in a forest of chestnut, then return to Rapolla to watch folk performances.
20:00 pm and arrive back in Putignano towards 22:00
