August 9: Kadoka, South Dakota
We enter in South Dakota, land of wheat fields. And indeed we find in the Mitchell Corn Palace , a building whose walls are completely covered by corn used to make paintings. Each year brought a different theme and all the works are remade.
On the road then there is a ghost town called 1880 Town, a village of 1880 in which the main structures have been retained: the saloon, the church, the sheriff's office, bank, post office, railroad ... In Kadok
evening, looking for a motel we could find a rodeo, not one of those organized by "circus performers" but a real one with a lot of cowboy arrived there on purpose to make this race exciting! The motel
where we stayed is the Kadok West Motel ($ 58); old office was strange, a character on which you could not understand anything I said. We also dined at a steakhouse, but this time we ended badly, a place without meaning and with the chambermaids scorbutic.
About ... today is my (Stephen) birthday !!!!!
Total distance traveled: 1960 miles (3154 km)
